Pentatonix

Pentatonix is an a capella group made of five members, and they've basically gone from music TV show winners to Grammy winning world touring billboard topping musical success. They cover popular music and also produce original music, and it's all a capella (well, mostly because sometimes the one guy plays his cello or they invite other artists like violinist Lindsey Stirling to collaborate in their beautiful music-making). So anyways, like I was saying, they make bumping amazing songs just using their voices. They sound like a complete band or something, but it really is just their voices harmonizing together and making very solid and well-put together sounding music. There are definitely about to be some YouTube links below.

Do you see the quality of work put into these videos, too?  Simply fantastic!

Speaking of YouTube, that's actually a big part of their success. They got dropped from their Sony label soon after moving to LA an winning the Sing Off, but they made a really smart move to keep in touch with their fans with the ever-growing platform of YouTube (along with Twitter and Instagram) and continued to make music online. Their stuff is so awesome that they became popular and fortunate enough to start touring and putting out legit CDs. There are even other artists covering and parodying them, such as the multi-talented Todrick Hall. A really funny tidbit was Pentatonix member Scott Hyoing's retelling of Todrick contacting him to acknowledge that trying to recreate the Daft Punk medley for his parody was really difficult and no wonder they won a Grammy for it.

As you can see, Pentatonix keeps in touch with its fanbase through Superfruit, a channel in YouTube run by two of its members, Scott and Mitch, and so Pentatonix really capitalizes on the social media resources for free advertising and publicity.

This is one of my favorite videos from Superfruit:

The other members also have individual Twitter accounts and Instagram accounts for fans to follow.

Aaaand as you can also see, I am a fan, and I think they do an amazing job, and you should all watch all their music videos and buy their CDs. Thank you. The end.

P.S. I went to their concert during the Japan leg of their tour, and it was such a stunning performance.  !!! XD
