Thinking Too Much Again

This is Major Dara to Ground Control,

Hiiiiiii!

I just did an all-night karaoke session Saturday night, and Bowie's "Space Oddity" has been stuck in my head all weekend and this Monday morning.  Ah, Bowie, I wish I could have seen you perform, rest in peace,

Anyways, I've been thinking about a bunch of ideas I have for YouTube and this blog, and I really really wish I could get some feedback, just anyone to bounce ideas around with.  You see, I'm still trying to figure out my groove, and like, before, I'm wondering at the purpose of each of the social media I use....like should my YouTube be reviews of books (BookTube) and shows while my blog be about my daily life in Japan and while my Twitter and Instagram just be snapshots of each?  Should I teach Japanese on YouTube or like tips for working in Japan on YouTube or only here on the blog?  Should I have different channels then for each topic on YouTube to better organize what I'm doing?  Does any of it matter at this point with like five people tuning into this blog and my channel?  What could I be doing to maybe make better content or to start more conversations with the people who do look at my stuff?  Is this a conflict of wanting to make things for others versus for myself?  Am I overthinking everything again when I should just stop and just make whatever I feel like making?  And once I find the things I like to make, then everything else will become clearer as far as how to organize my stuffs?

Yeah, maybe I think too much instead of just doing...

Trying to do the YouTube thing

Happy Holidays, lovely readers!

So I'm trying to stay positive and productive, and I've made some things!!

Early in November, I made an impressions video for Brizzy, and it actually turns out that she used some of my video for her video to celebrate hitting one million subscribers!  I'm still a bit in shock, to be honest, but I'm so happy to be included!  I feel like I'm a part of this YouTube community!

Then I filmed another food thing, a second episode for Dashing Dara, but I think I improved it a bit especially by finally making a thumbnail for it and trying out new angles.

Oh!  And I uploaded my first BookTube video!  Yay!  It's super long, and I don't think anyone will ever want to watch the whole thing through, but my goal was to just get started, and so I did!  I plan to make my future videos shorter and more concise.  Gotta work on that.

And now, my most recent video.  I made another TLT (The Little Things) video.  These are actually the easiest videos for me to make since so far I haven't decided to put much more than minimal effort into editing.  I just kinda have fun making these tiny little clips where I show off a tiny piece of my life in Japan.  I like it as is for now.  I hope to make more of them since there are so many things I want to share!

So yay!  So far, I've got two videos per month for two months in a row.  I hope I can keep this up and eventually increase it to three times a month and then, gasp, maybe once a week.

I know I'm still pretty newb at this, but I hope that as I keep recording and editing videos, my content will become better and better....and I'll become more and more comfortable in front of a camera.  Every day I think more and more about how much fun it would be to be an entertainer, a performer, an actor, and more specifically, a voice actor.  I need to learn to be confident and to be myself in front of a camera.  So yeah, here goes my journey to becoming a better me. :)

I suck at updating

Hi all you beautiful people on the Internet,

So as you can tell...I suck at updating.  I have a youtube, instagram, and this blog, and I continually pass up opportunities to update for XYZ reasons (and it's usually my addiction to Netflix, heh heh).  Thus, I just want to apologize for not updating as much as I would like to and should.

Sooo much has happened in the past few months since moving to Japan, and I've taken a bajillion pictures and videos and seen and been to so many things.  I'm also trying to do the novel thing for November, but you can guess as to how well I'm faring with that.  I've got like 2000 words only so far...but it's a start!  I've never seriously written a long piece of fiction since like elementary school, so I'm actually really excited to put one of my ideas down on digital Google doc paper.  I tend to create characters and settings and sometimes whole plots and timelines for a work of fiction, but they usually stay in my head or very roughly drafted on a series of post-it notes and scrap paper.  I need to get my shit together!  >____<

Anyways, I'm about to declare some things here on the Internet, and hopefully, making these promises concretely documented, I might follow through.
